The Slovak cable operator Satro is preparing to launch a DTH platform. With Antik Telecom also set to enter the satellite TV market, the country will soon have no fewer than six such services,
with others already being provided by Skylink, freeSAT, Nova Digi TV and Magio Sat.
Quoted by Parabola, Marek Michalik from Satro confirmed that the company is working on a DTH project but added that he could not disclose any further details while negotiations with other parties are ongoing.
Parabola suggests that Satro is in fact in talks with Telekom Austria, which will be providing services to the upcoming Antik SAT platform, employing capacity on Eutelsat 16A at 16 degrees East.
Separately, Digizone reports that Antik SAT plans to enter the Czech market a few months after it officially launches in Slovakia at the end of this month.
