The RSCC Express-AM7 satellite was delivered to Baikonur for the upcoming launch of a Proton-M/Breeze-M scheduled for March 19, 2015.
Express AM7 is a new satellite adapted to a mission at 40 degrees East to extend RSCC’s capacity at that orbital position. Express AM7 will have a communications payload of 62 active transponders (24 in C-band, 36 in Ku-band, two in L-band).
The Express-AM7 satellite was built on off-budget funding under the Federal Target Program,Development of TV and Radio Broadcasting in the Russian Federation in 2009–2015. The satellite is intended for support of TV and radio broadcasting, broadband access and multimedia, data, telephony and mobile communications services.
