Cloudio TV launches new apps

February 19, 2015 09.33 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

CaribBeTV_CloudioTVThe OTT service Cloudio TV has launched a new range of live streaming apps for Android, iOS and Chromecast that allows watching the channel offering from South America, Asia-Pacific and the Caribbean on mobile phones and tablets.

Commenting on the development, Marc Van Steyvoort, VP business strategy at Cloudio TV, said: “Giving the strong growth in TV channels worldwide, together with the growing demand of end-users to look at television on any device and any place, a new range of mobile apps was required.

“ Especially our customers from the emerging markets (APAC and LATAM) asked additional mobile viewing apps to look at their home channels. This mobile service offerings allowed us to launch as a primary screen extension to our existing customer base and reach out to new mobile TV customers”.

David Vargas-Racero, CEO at Cloudio TV, added: “The new mobile app offering is also a requirement to reach out to a new range of mobile focused diaspora communities in the Middle-East and Africa.

“In the next six months, we will double the number of channels on offer on our TV Everywhere service, adding to the future plan to get over 200 channels.”

Cloudio TV is aiming to increase its subscriber total by 50% this year.
