The second DTT multiplex in Russia now reaches over 50% of the country’s population.
According to the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS), this follows the activation of a transmitter in the Kotlas Arkhangelsk region covering 90,600 people.
With its deployment, the second multiplex (RTRS-2) is now available to 50.28% of the population, equivalent to around 73.5 million people.
It includes those resident in cities of 73 regions of Russia, among them Kazan, Novosibirsk, St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.
By the end of this year RTRS expects the second multiplex to be available in a further 58 locations. Distributed by 209 transmitters, it will reach 65% of the population.
