Telenor’s broadcast division had total revenues of NOK1,550 million (€180.3 million) in Q4 2014, up from NOK1,537 million in the previous quarter but lower than the NOK1,778 million posted a year earlier.
Canal Digital DTH claimed NOK1,135 million of the total, followed by Satellite Broadcasting with NOK244 million.
The company’s operating profit in Q4 amounted to NOK310 million, of which Canal Digital DTH and Satellite Broadcasting claimed NOK151 million and NOK107 million respectively.
Telenor had a total of 912,000 DTH subscribers in Q4, down from 914,000 in Q3 and 929,000 at the end of 2013.
Telenor Group’s total revenues in Q4 amounted to NOK29.1 billion, equivalent to an organic growth of 5.3%. EBITDA before other items was NOK9.1 billion and operating cash flow NOK3.46 billion/
Commenting on the results, Telenor Group president and CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas said: “Our performance in 2014 confirms Telenor Group’s position as one of Europe’s fastest growing telcos, with organic revenue growth of 5% during the final quarter and 3% for the full year. We reported revenues and earnings in line with our guidance for the year. During 2014, we added 20 million new mobile subscribers, of which seven million in the fourth quarter alone”.
