During the coming months UPC Nederland will be dropping a number of international channels including some UNBC channels, Sky News and RT.
On April 1, Sky News and the Dutch channel Goed TV will no longer be available in the network, to be followed by the switch-off of three Universal-NBC channels, Syfy, 13th Street and E!Entertainment on June 1. Shorts TV will only be available in its SD version, as the HD version will terminate on April 1.
RT (the former Russia Today) will no longer be available from October 1.
A number of channels will move from the basic tier to the extended tier (UPC Royaal), including two A+E Networks channels (History and Crime & Investigation), Discovery’s ID and Turner Broadcasting’s Cartoon Network.
Channels moving into the basic tier include German regional broadcaster NDR, RTL, Sat.1, RTV-7, TRT Turk, M2 and NPO Zapp Xtra (kids). All new is the launch of Horse & Country TV into the extended tier.
