The turnover with advertising in the direct environment of video streaming offerings has increased by 17% to €240.6 million in Germany in 2014, according to current data from IHS Technology released by German industry association BITKOM.
The advertising turnover is expected to rise by 16% to €278 million this year. Almost three quarters (73%) of the internet users in Germany use video streaming services.
The most important providers of advertising-based video streaming offerings are video portals like YouTube, online platforms like Web.de, T-Online and Yahoo as well as the websites of commercial TV broadcasters.
