Russia’s leading pay-TV operator Tricolor TV plans to offer its viewers around 160 movies to which Paramount Pictures owns the rights this year.
According to Tricolor TV, they will be carried in a number of packages including KinoPremium HD, Family HD, Action HD and Nashe HD.
Information about the films will meanwhile be available through the mobile application Kino.Trikolor, which the operator launched late last year.
Commenting on the cooperation with Paramount, Arsene Chomutov, the production director at Tricolor TV, said: “Today we are seeing a reduction of the purchase of content in the whole industry of 15-20 % and a reduction in foreign content on Russian TV channels.
“Despite the difficult market situation, Tricolor TV intends to keep its content, filling movie channels at a high quality level. Paramount Pictures offers the best film content for over 100 years and we are grateful for cooperation with the company.”
