René Obermann, former CEO of Germany’s national telco Deutsche Telekom, will become managing director and partner of international private equity company Warburg Pincus.
Based in London, Obermann will mainly focus on the identification and evaluation of new investments in the telecommunications, media and technology industry worldwide. He will also represent Warburg Pincus in Germany.
Most recently, Obermann was CEO of Dutch cable operator Ziggo – until its acquisition by US media company Liberty Global. From 1998 until 2014, he was working at Deutsche Telekom which he headed since 2006 as CEO.
Obermann is also a supervisory board member of E.ON, ThyssenKrupp and Spotify.
