Poland’s leading alternative telco Netia has entered into a strategic partnership with P4, the operator of Play. It follows negotiations, lasting several months, the company undertook with both P4 and Polkomtel.
As a result of the partnership, Netia will now offer its subscribers a number of new mobile services and packages.
Some of these are already provided on a test basis and will be made available to all new subscribers in Netia’s standard offer from the beginning of the second quarter.
A number of convergent services and packages will become available at the end of Q3/beginning of Q4.
As of the end of 2014 Netia had 46,000 subscribers to its mobile services.
Of these, 20,000 were mostly via Play’s network and 26,000 via Polkomtel’s network.
Over the next few months, they will all be moved to Play’s network.
Besides being the leading alternative telco in Poland, Netia is also becoming an increasingly important player in the country’s cable market following its acquisition of networks formerly operated by Aster and then sold on my UPC Polska.
