Germany’s national telco Deutsche Telekom has equipped almost 650 flats of Frankfurt-based housing company Frankfurter Wohnungs-Genossenschaft (FWG) with ist cable TV service TeleVision.
As part of the transition, the buildings were also connected to Telekom’s fibre-optic network which enables tenants to sign up for high-speed internet access among other services.
TeleVision provides the around 1,100 FWG tenants with 35 analogue, more than 100 digital and 23 HD channels as well as foreign-language channels. As the whole offering is unencrypted, viewers just require a TV set with an integrated DVB-C tuner for reception without the need for further devices.
The tenants can sign up for additional pay-TV packages, for example Sky Deutschland’s Bundesliga offering. Telephony and internet services are also available on request.
