Over 760,000 Tricolor TV customers had exchanged their SD for HD equipment as of the end of 2014.
As a result, says the leading Russian DTH platform, the number of SD subscriptions was reduced to 11.7% of the total.
The most active region in the exchange programme, which began in February 2014 in the central part of Russia, was Krasnodar, with 65,500 SD receivers traded in.
It was followed by the Rostov and Moscow regions, with 35,100 and 32,100 respectively, while the peak in replacing receivers was in the fourth quarter.
Tricolor TV was launched ten years ago and some of its longest established subscribers, from 2005-7, still use their original receivers.
These do not allow them to view HD services, which form an increasingly important part of the company’s offer.
