The Russian cable operator ER Telecom has launched a TV Everywhere service.
It allows subscribers to watch its Dom.ru TV offer after downloading a free app for their iOS or Android smartphone or tablet.
Reception requires internet access of 300 Kbps and gives access to 60 popular TV channels on up to five devices.
Quoting research by Delloite, ER Telecom, which employs the brand name Dom.ru, says that in 2014 smartphone penetration (66%) exceeded telephone penetration in Russia (64%) for the first time.
Single families in Russia have on average three electronic devices with internet access.
