The number of Dutch viewers using streaming and VOD service continues to grow, according to the latest research from GfK.
During the fourth quarter of 2014, 500,000 more people started using VOD services bringing the total to 4.7 million, which equates to 36% of all Dutch TV viewers.
The TV set remains the most popular device to watch streaming and on-demand services, with 74% using the most traditional of devices; 35% of all streaming and on-demand users said they watch illegal content, with Torrent Websites (65%) and Popcorn Time (22%) being the most popular choices.
The research also shows that 4.6 million people (35%) are using streaming music services, up from 4.2 million (32%). Illegal usage of music is down from 32% to around 25% during the last quarter of 2014.
