The Romanian regulator ANCOM has received bids from five companies to operate national, regional and local DTT multiplexes.
According to ANCOM, the tender committee will consider applications from 2K Telecom, Radio M Plus, Regal, Cargo Sped and Digital Video Broadcast up until January 20 and announce the winners by the end of the month.
Alternately, and if necessary, it will organize further rounds before making a final decision.
All the multiplex licences – two national, 40 regional and 19 local – will be for a period of 10 years, with the winners able to provide commercial services for the transmission of TV programming by June 17 this year.
The minimum licence fee for the two national multiplexes is €300,000, while for the regional and local multiplexes they will vary from €12,000 for Bucharest (regional) to €1,000 for a locality that is not a county seat.
