Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has fined the cable operator Vectra PLN493,252 (€115,205) for violating the collective interests of its customers.
According to the UOKiK), this was done through automatically renewing fixed-period contracts when they ended by an additional six months.
Instead, Vectra should have submitted appropriate proposals to its customers about contract extensions.
Proceedings against Vectra, which is one of the largest cable operators in Poland, were initiated in July 2013.
The UOKiK’s decision is not final and Vectra is appealing against it in court.
