Sky Sports is to dedicate an entire channel to the ICC Cricket World Cup, screening coverage of the biggest one-day event in the international cricket calendar from start to finish.Sky Sports 2 will flip to become Sky Sports World Cup as it sets the scene for the opening fixture on February 13 as the current ICC Twenty20 World Cup holders, Sri Lanka, take on New Zealand, before England return to the MCG against Australia. The channel will launch at 6am with a series of classic World Cup matches from years gone by, before Adam Gilchrist shares his trade secrets to success in a masterclass special as part of a comprehensive schedule of support programming

The dedicated sports channel has become a recent feature of the Sky Sports portfolio, most recently Sky Sports 3 became Sky Sports Darts for the duration of the World Darts Championship. Sky Sports 2 has previously been branded as Sky Sports Ashes and Sky continues to operate Sky Sports F1.
