The shareholder assembly of Arte Deutschland TV has nominated the director general of SWR, the regional affiliate of German public broadcaster ARD for Southwestern Germany, for the presidency of European cultural channel Arte from January 1, 2016.
The right to nominate the new Arte president for the period between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2020 lies at the German arm of the German-French channel.
The election of the president and the French vice-president will take place at an Arte shareholder assembly in 2015.
Boudgoust has been director general of SWR since May 2007. The 59-year old would take on the Arte presidency in addition to this position.
