A delegation from the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) has met with China’s Great Wall Industry Corporation to discuss potential cooperation to build, launch and operate communications satellites.
It was briefed on the status and prospects of China’s space industry and toured the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), including the centre for satellite assembly, integration and testing, as well as the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) and its assembly facility.
Great Wall Industry Corporation was founded in 1980 and is the foreign trade arm of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASTC).
It is the only business entity authorised by the Chinese government to engage in commercial launches.
