Russia’s Yamal-401 is scheduled for lift-off on December 16 and Europe’s Astra 2G on December 28.
The new dates were announced by Irina Zubareva, spokesperson for Russia’s space agency Roscosmos, according to Tass, but so far the new launch date for Astra 2G has not ben confirmed by ILS, who handles the international sales of the Proton launch vehicle.
Launches were planned for December 12 and November 28, respectively, but the November event was delayed due to malfunction in the rocket’s control system and both launches were delayed.
Tass also reported that Russia plans 11 launches of the Proton-M carrier rockets from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan in 2015.
“The launch of the Inmarsat-5F2 communications satellite is to be the first — on January 30,” a person told the Russian news agency.
In spring it is planned to carry out five launches of Proton-M with the spacecraft Express-AM7, Express-AM8, MexSat-1 (Mexico), Glonass-M (three satellites) and Inmarsat-5F3, the source said.
Two launches of the Proton rocket with the TurkSat (Turkey) and Eutelsat-9B satellites may be carried out in summer. “Two Proton launches for orbiting the Express-AMU-1 and Intelsat-31 satellites are planned for autumn,” the source said.
