German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland has rolled out its recently launched OTT service Sky Online as an app on connected TV sets from Samsung (models from 2014) in Germany and Austria.
Sky Online provides linear pay-TV channels and Sky’s subscription video-on-demand service Sky Snap directly via the internet from €9.99 per month. Cable, satellite or IPTV are not required, neither a separate box. The contract can be cancelled monthly.
In the next weeks, Sky Deutschland wants to add the Xbox One, Android tablets and smartphones, the Sky Online TV Box from Roku and further connected TV sets including older Samsung models as reception devices for Sky Online.
