With the last 12 months marked by record television audiences for key sporting events, and social media driving viewers to TV channels for news, music, fiction, education, culture and documentaries, the role of television at the heart of the digital industry has never been stronger.
The enduring and evolving relationship of channels with their audiences was the object of analysis of the jury of The Eutelsat TV awards, chaired by award-winning RAI journalist, Duilio Giammaria. The jury assessed the quality, innovation and creativity of over 100 channels and selected finalists from 12 countries.
The winning channels in nine categories will be announced at a ceremony in Rome on Friday, November 28 presented by UK television journalist, Kate Silverton, in the company of broadcasting executives from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the USA and Mexico.
This year’s roster of finalists competing for an award reflects ventures with over 20 years’ experience in broadcasting, including Euronews, Eurosport and MTV, and brand new ventures launched over the last 12 months, of which RTL Kockica, Fokus TV, Turkmax Gurme, Sky Sport moto GP HD.
