The take-up of pay-TV services continues to rise in Hungary, while at the same time the number of homes receiving analogue TV is in sharp decline.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of the end of last month there were an estimated total of 3,385,000 TV subscriptions.
Based on the eight major market players, 2,055,792 subscribers opted for cable or IPTV services, with 1,113,359 of these being digital.
Meanwhile, the number of DTH homes stood at 897,853 and the pay-DTT platform MinDig TV Extra had 119,816 subscribers.
All told, there were 2,131,028 digital TV subscribers as of the end of October.
UPC was the leading provider of pay-TV services irrespective of technology, with a market share of 26.9%.
It was closely followed by Magyar Telekom and Digi, with shares of 24.9% and 23.4% respectively.
