Germany’s largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland has doubled its highest internet speed to 200Mbps for downloads and 12Mbps for uploads.
The high-speed service is available in more than 10 cities: Over 1.1 million households in Aurich, Bassum, Bendorf, Frankfurt/Oder, Gransee, Koblenz, Mainz, Meppen, Papenburg, Saarbrücken and Wilhelmshaven as well as surrounding towns can sign up for the offering from November 10, 2014.
By the end of March 2015, the Vodafone subsidiary wants to serve around 2 million households and in autumn 2015 almost 7 million households with the 200Mbps service.
The new tariff Internet & Telefon 200 which also comprises a telephone line costs €39.90 per month in the first year and €59.90 per month afterwards. The minimum contract period is two years.
