Ukraine Today has secured a licensing agreement with Italy’s TivuSat. As a result, the channel is now available to over 2 million of the DTH platform’s viewers.
Ukraine Today was launched earlier this year as a counterbalance to the perceived bias of news reporting of developments in Central and Eastern Europe, and in particular Ukraine, by the Russian media. Based in Kiev, it currently broadcasts in English.
TivuSat was launched in 2008 and is a free-to-view platform, delivering its service via Eutelsat.
Commenting on the agreement with TivuSat, Tatiana Pushnova, the general producer at Ukraine Today, said: “this collaboration is one of the successful steps of our channel strategy, which covers the maximum audience in Europe, particularly in Italy.”
