Magyar Telekom looks to IPTV

Magyar Telekom HQIPTV continues to drive Magyar Telekom’s TV business, with the company claiming 430,1110 subscribers in its home market Hungary at the end of the third quarter.

This was 15.5% on a year earlier, while the number of satellite customers grew by a more modest 0.7% to 306,936 over the same period.

At the same time, cable subscribers continued to decline, the 174,103 total being 1.3% lower than a year earlier.

Total TV customers meanwhile were up by 4.3% to 911,149.

At the same time, blended ARPU was HUF3,128 (€10.1), barely changed on the HUF3,120 a year earlier.

In Macedonia, the company ended Q3 with 96,450 IPTV customers, or 15.1% more than a year earlier, while in Montenegro it had 60.782 (+5.9%).

Magyar Telekom as whole had total revenues of HUF157,504 million in Q3, down 0.5% on a year earlier. Its net profit amounted to HUF11,797 million, or 9.8% more than a year earlier.
