Germany’s national telco Deutsche Telekom has acquired 59,000 new customers for its domestic IPTV platform Entertain in Q3 2014.
The total customer number thereby rises by 2.5% to 2.38 million on September 30, 2014. One year ago, Entertain had 2.12 million customers.
The Q3 2014 figures reflect the positive subscriber development reported in Q2 2014. In Q3 2013, just 43,000 new customers were added.
The number of fixed-line broadband customers in Germany decreased by 21,000 to 12.34 million which Telekom attributes to a large amount of contracts expiring in Q3 2014.
The total turnover rose by 0.8% compared with last year to €15.6 billion. For the first time in Telekom’s history, more than 60% of the turnover was generated abroad. The EBITDA sank by 1.8% to €4.6 billion due to higher investments in Germany and the USA.
