The launch of WWE Network in the UK has been delayed until further notice, the broadcaster announced.
“WWE would like to thank our fans in the United Kingdom for bearing with us,” the brief statement read on the WWE website.
The “wrestling mania” channel was expected to launch this October, and only last week Michael Weitz, SVP, Financial Planning and Investor Relations at WWE, said during an investors call that the service would launch this month.
“As far as the United Kingdom is concerned, we finally are going to make our move on that and the network will be available in November on an OTT basis in the United Kingdom,” Weitz said.
However, WWE decided at the very last moment to cancel the UK launch, presumably due to rights issues.
