The Polish national commercial broadcaster TVN is planning to launch a second channel aimed at viewers outside the country.
According to Press.pl, it has applied to the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for a licence for the channel, which will be named TVN International Extra.
TVN launched its first international channel (iTVN) in 2004 and it is currently received in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, France and the UK.
Its output consists mostly of content sourced from the TVN Group in Poland.
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, TVN also has plans to launch two more thematic channels, named TVN Fabula and TVN Sportive.
