New SVOD service for Poland

TVNThe Polish national commercial broadcaster TVN has entered into a strategic partnership with T-Mobile Polska.

Under it, the two companies will in the near future jointly launch a new SVOD service T-Mobile Zone under the Player brand for all new and existing T-Mobile residential customers.

The service within Player will for the first time ever offer TVN’s signature programmes on a live basis.

It will also offer a selection of Polish and foreign feature films and a selected number of live TV channels.

T-Mobile Zone will be accessible on Android, iOS and Windows Phone mobile devices, as well as in a web version.

Commenting on the service, Markus Tellenbach, president and CEO TVN, said: “TVN continues to strengthen its leading position in the booming video on demand (VOD) market. I am delighted to enter into this strategic partnership with T-Mobile Polska to drive innovation and best in class services. TVN Player with over 800,000 registered users has established itself as the leading Polish source for online video entertainment and expands with Player for T-Mobile customers the scope of its service by offering popular Hollywood content as well as a special offer for children and access to live TV on a SVOD basis”.

Grzegorz Bors, CCO of Private Market at T-Mobile Polska, added: “Partnerships are one of the pillars of T-Mobile Polska strategy, which we express by the slogan “win with partners”. For the past four years T-Mobile has built strong foundations to carry out this strategy: the best network and the best customer service. That’s why today we are ready to offer – with our partners – such innovative products as banking services or fleet management. And I’m very glad, that – together with TVN – we’ll soon open to our clients the door to the mobile entertainment, so they could even better experience «the best network» and feel personally what that claim stands for.”
