BeTV, the Belgian premium TV pl;atform for the French speaking market, remains stable with 120,000 subscribers.
The operator has always been secretive about its actual subscriber figures, but according to Belgian newspaper Le Soir the figure of 120,000 is correct.
Until August 2004 the service was known as Canal+ Belgique, but became BeTV when it was sold by Vivendi. At that time, the total number of subs was “below 120,000.”
It was believed that in 2005, when the platform lost its exclusive access to the live games of the Belgian football competition, sank below that number, but now, thanks to new offers including the channel Be Séries, the VOD service Be à la demande, and an increase in the number of HD channels, the figures seems to have reached 120,000 again.
