The Polish National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has had change of mind about who will operate the country’s eighth DTT multiplex (MUX-8).
According to Wirtualne Media, the regulator no longer supports its earlier decision, announced in June, that the multiplex should be allocated entirely to the public broadcaster TVP.
However, the KRRiT is still unable to disclose its new view on the multiplex until it has been first submitted to the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), the deadline for which is today (October 28).
Mux-8 has capacity for 10 SD or five HD channels.
The KRRiT’s initial decision about who should operate it met with strong protests from commercil broadcasters.
