Numericable has moved into the red as it awaits approval from the local competition authority for its purchase of mobile network SFR.
The French cablenet posted a third-quarter net loss of €94.4 million, against a year-on-year profit of €12.8 million as the costs of the purchase hit the balance sheet.
Third quarter revenues increased by 4% to reach €331.7 million; EBITDA also improved, by 4.7% to €155.9 million.
The drivers were an increase in the overall subscriber base of 3% to reach 1.715 million – achieved despite a fall in those subscribers taking TV alone.
The Numericable multiplay customer base grew by more than 6% to reach 1.083 million.
At the end of the third quarter of 2014, the Group had close to 420,000 subscribers equipped with LaBox Fibre, representing close to 40% of its multiplay customer base.
