Unitymedia Kabel BW, the German subsidiary of US media company Liberty Global, will deploy multimedia box Horizon to its cable customers in federal state Baden-Württemberg from November 3, 2014.
The TV and media platform acts as a central hub in the household combining conventional television, video-on-demand, TV archives and content from the internet and the home network.
Unitymedia Kabel BW introduced Horizon to its customers in federal states North-Rhine Westphalia and Hessen on September 4, 2013. In Baden-Württemberg, only mobile add-on service Horizon Go has been available so far, but not the box.
With the rollout in Baden-Württemberg, Unitymedia Kabel BW will provide Horizon to customers in all three federal states served by the cable operator.
At the end of June 2014, more than 135,000 Unitymedia Kabel BW customers opted for Horizon while Horizon Go counted 125,000 users.
