New executive joins Scripps

October 22, 2014 09.31 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Katharina FeistauerScripps Networks UK & EMEA has appointed Katharina Feistauer as VP, programming for Scripps Networks UK & EMEA.

Feistauer, who will take up her role in December, will report to senior VP content and marketing, Scripps Networks UK & EMEA, Nick Thorogood, and be responsible for programme planning and strategy, as well as leading content sourcing and acquisitions.

Feistauer joins the company from Discovery Networks International, where she worked for 10 years and was most recently head of emerging networks EMEA.

Whilst at Discovery, Feistauer was primarily responsible for content strategy and programme planning across a number of EMEA channels and oversaw on-air production for the German channel portfolio including Discovery’s first free to air network DMAX. In addition, she managed the content integration process between Discovery Networks International and the newly acquired SBS Networks in the Nordics.
Feistauer began her career at McKinsey and Company’s media practice and went on to hold senior positions at NBC Universal, including global head of research.

Commenting on the appointment, Thorogood said: “Katharina joins us with an intrinsic understanding of the region and offers a wealth of experience drawn from years of mastering television programming for international markets. She will undoubtedly be an invaluable addition to our team as we continue to develop our portfolio of channels.”
Feistauer added: “It is an extremely exciting time for Scripps Networks UK & EMEA given the growth ambition and success of their inspired TV brands in recent years. I am thrilled to be joining their dynamic team to further grow their offering and look forward to continued expansion of quality programming.”
