The owners of the Romanian cable operator Digital Cable Systems (DCS) have invested €3 million in a subsidiary named AKTA Telecom.
However, quoting Dinu Malacopol, the president of both companies, ZF reports that the actual investment in the subsidiary since it was formed two years ago now stands at around €10 million.
The latest funding, by Pinebridge, DCS’s majority shareholder, along with minority shareholders in the cable operator, was made in August, according to the Official Gazette (Monitorul Oficial).
AKTA Telecom is being primarily used for the acquisition, consolidation and integration of smaller networks by DCS.
DCS is one of the largest players in a cable market dominated by RCS&RDS, UPC Romania and Romtelecom.
