Sky invests in Pluto.TV

Pluto.tvSky has acquired a $500 million debt security in Pluto.TV, the web TV service, available though mobile apps and connected TVs.

Pluto.TV went live in March with 100 channels of curated content across genres.

Established by Nick Grouf, Tom Ryan and Ilya Pozin, Pluto counts among its other investors Terry Semel’s Windsor Media, United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer, ICM president and partner Chris Silbermann, rapper Nas, Interscope Records co-founder Tom Whalley, former ABC Entertainment president Jamie Tarses and UTA head of digital media Brent Weinstein.
