The further development of TV broadcasting, including the switch to the DVB-T2 standard, in the Czech Republic will be determined by political decisions.
According to E15, the Czech Telecom Office (CTU) has produced a strategy document in which it devotes separate chapters to radio and TV broadcasting.
In the latter case, it anticipates the government will make decisions based on the views of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, working in partnership with the CTU, Ministry of Culture and Council for Radio and TV Broadcasting (RRTV).
It also says that it assumes the process will involve public TV (Ceske Televize).
It is preparing for the next phase of digitisation and according to its CEO Petr Dvorak will need additional resources.
