YouSee is launching an integrated multiscreen platform that brings together linear TV with startover, catch up and on demand.
Unveiling the service, René Brøchner, director of YouSee, admitted the operator had an eye on the United States and the phenomena of cable cutting and cable shaving. “Denmark is not America, but we recognize the trend. In particular, we find that customers switch to smaller TV packages. Therefore, we now breathe new life into cable television and bring it back to the platforms where the customers are. We believe in television’s ability to screen a variety of quality programmes – no streaming service can match the content”.
YouSee Play is available on the web and through two apps for smartphones and tablets. YouSee Play TV and Movies includes live TV, startover, television archive, and movies. A second service, YouSee Play Music, consists of 20 million music tracks delivered at 320 kbps. It has also been integrated into the high-end Sonos Music System.
Both are available to subscribers to the Plus service.
