German commercial TV group ProSiebenSat.1 has extended its collaboration with CBS Studios International.
The Munich-based broadcaster has renewed its licence contract with the US production company, thereby securing the exclusive TV rights for several series CBS will produce in the next years. This includes, for example, NCIS: New Orleans, a spin-off of NCIS.
The broadcast rights cover the ProSiebenSat.1 channels in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition to the free-to-air TV rights, selected pay-TV licences are also part of the agreement.
Besides NCIS, ProSiebenSat.1 already holds the rights for CBS series like Elementary or Under the Dome. The contract with CBS also comprises the new science fiction series Extant from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television in which Oscar winner Halle Berry plays the main character.
