Orange is understood to have entered into an agreement with Netflix in France.
According to Le Figaro, if the two parties do indeed reach a deal it will give some 10 million Orange subscribers access to the SVOD service, which launched in France only last month.
Bouygues Telecom was the first French telco to enter into an agreement with Netflix and will offer it to its subscribers from November.
However, Orange lists Canal+ as one of its main clients and faces displeasing the pay-TV operator, which is competing directly with Netflix, if it strikes a deal with the latter.
As already reported in Broadband TV News, Netflix has got off to a strong start in France, securing over 100,000 customers in its first two weeks of operation.
However, the service is being offered free of charge for the first month and its popularity will be tested once customers are required to pay.
