Almost one million homes in Hungary now receive their broadband services via cable.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of this August the total stood at 994,409, of which nearly 50% (496,193) were via DOCSIS 3.0.
At the same time, the number of broadband subscriptions via FTTx stood at 376,926 and xDSL subscriptions at 779,074.
The total number of fixed access broadband subscriptions was 2,377,000.
Magyar Telekom remained the leading provider of fixed broadband services, its market share of 35.8% being almost the same as those of the second (UPC) and third (Digi) largest players combined, with 21.9% and 14% respectively.
Invitel was the next largest player, with 9.5%.
