Germany’s third largest cable company Tele Columbus has acquired all remaining shares in cable operator BMB, thereby turning it into a 100% subsidiary.
The Gelsenkirchen-based company has so far been co-owned by Tele Columbus and Marienfeld Multimedia. It will now be fully integrated into the Tele Columbus group. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
BMB serves around 220,000 households in the Ruhr area and along the Rhine river in federal state North-Rhine Westphalia with TV, radio and multimedia services.
Through the take-over, Tele Columbus will cover a total of around 440,000 households in its core states North-Rhine Westphalia and Hessen in the western part of Germany.
The company recently also acquired fibre-optic network operator Big Medienversorgung.
