A&E to enter Germany on September 22

A&E GermanyUS television broadcaster A&E will launch its German channel on September 22, 2014.

The pay-TV service will replace The Biography Channel on all platforms including Sky Deutschland, Kabel Deutschland, Unitymedia Kabel BW, PrimaCom, KabelKiosk, Entertain and Vodafone TV. A&E will be available in HD quality on some networks. Selected programmes will be offered on-demand by maxdome and KabelKiosk Choice.

In Switzerland, A&E will be carried by UPC Cablecom and Swisscable while the channel will be available in Austria at UPC Austria, Sky Deutschland, A1 and Liwest as well as on Hutchison 3G Austria’s mobile TV platform.

A&E_WahlburgersThe 24 hour service which targets viewers between 25 and 55 years of age will focus on exceptional people and their lives. The line-up will comprise many German TV debuts, for example the fourth season of duck hunter series Duck Dynasty and new real life format Wahlburgers in which actor Mark Wahlberg, singer Donnie Wahlberg and their brother Paul along with their mother Alma open a burger restaurant.

From October 26, 2014 A&E will show six-part series Alexander Hartmann – Reality Hacker which has been produced particularly for the German-speaking market featuring hypnotist and mentalist Alexander Hartmann.
