The Ukrainian regulator (National Council) has issued a warning to Volia, the country’s leading cable operator, for not launching IPTV services in a number of locations.
In a statement, the National Council says that planned tests were carried out in the locations in accordance with the law, within one year of the issuance of licences.
However, Volia has not since launched full IPTV services.
The regulator has also noted that Volia has failed to comply with the law by not providing subscribers in the city of Kharkov with universal TV programmes access (i.e. must-carry channels).
At the same time, it says the operator has now removed the Russian channel Historia, which is banned in Ukraine following a decision by the National Council on September 4, from its offer.
