Digital broadcasting has been dealt yet another blow in Bulgaria, with the national broadcaster Nova TV deciding to withdraw one of its channels from a DTT multiplex.
According to Capital, Nova TV met with the regulator earlier this week and asked it to amend the licence terms of Diema Family +1.
By law, the regulator has no right to refuse such a request.
Earlier this year, bTV, Nova TV’s main competitor, asked for the digital licences for its channels Ring.bg +1 and bTV Lady +1 to be terminated.
Although the regulator has to date licensed over 30 DTT channels, only eight are currently being broadcast on three national multiplexes.
