Orange Polska has sold its proprietary channel Orange Sport to RMVC for an undisclosed fee.
RMVC is owned by the entrepreneur Roman Mlodowski, who was for a number of years the head of TVN CNBC.
Orange Sport was launched in August 2008 and is distributed by all major cable and DTH operators in Poland, reaching over 5 million homes.
In a statement, Maciej Nowohonski, a board member of the board at Orange Polska responsible for financial affairs, said that the sale was in line with the company’s strategy of focusing on telecoms and offering its customers the highest quality of service.
He added that Orange Polska was pleased the channel’s new owner was committed to keeping it as sports-based service.
The sale is expected to be finalised in the fourth quarter.
