Bouygues Telecom has broken ranks with other French pay-TV companies by signing an agreement with Netflix.
As a result, the SVOD service, which made its debut in the country at the beginning of this week, will be made available to its customers from November.
In a statement, Bouygues Telecom says that Netflix will initially be offered to customers of Bbox Sensation, with future clients of the Android box subsequently also being offered the service.
Commenting on the agreement, Olivier Roussat, CEO of Bouygues Telecom, said: “We are very pleased and proud to announce this partnership with the world leader in SVOD. We will continue to enhance our offering to our customers to have access to the best innovative content at home and on the move.”
Reed Hastings, CEO and co-founder of Netflix, added: “We are very pleased to announce this partnership with Bouygues Telecom to offer the incredible Netflix experience for its customers.”
