Fiber Nederland (NL) and Stream Group signed an agreement for the supply of the Interactive TV platform Solocoo.
Solocoo will offer Fiber NL customers a variety of interactive services such as Video on Demand, Cloud Recording, Multi- screen, and a wide range of high-quality Live TV channels.
Fiber plans to offer the Solocoo product to customers on new Fibre to the Home (FttH) networks. In addition to a fully interactive set-top box, customers will also get access to a multi-screen application, allowing them to enjoy Live TV, watch cloud recordings and use video-on-demand services on their tablet or mobile phone.
The agreement gives Fiber NL the opportunity to achieve further growth without being faced with major investments for an interactive television platform.
Pieter Heyn, CEO of Stream Group, explained: “Together with Fiber NL, we have chosen an OPEX-based model, offering Fiber customers a mature and proven TV product. This business model, along with the flexibility of the Solocoo platform, allows Fiber NL plenty of scope to achieve further growth in the coming years.”
Daan Hamoen, COO of Fiber NL, added: “We not only benefit from the future developments of the Solocoo platform, we have a clear view on how we see the future of television develop. With a partner like Stream Group we can concentrate on being creative and focus on the execution. We’re very excited to get started.”
