Virgin Media has unveiled a significant update to its TiVo platform. A new brand identity will be seen by the cablenet’s 2.3 million connected customers.
But it is the introduction of HTML5 and its high definition interface that will be welcomed by app developers, a move that will also bring the Opera App Store onto the platform.
The update also includes the introduction of a new ‘What to Watch Now’ feature, which presents customers with a list of shows they may enjoy that have recently started or are about to start, categorised into kids shows, movies, sports content and programmes that are popular on TV.
Virgin says more details of its work in HTML5 will be released in the next few weeks.
